Simple Contest

With anticipating good luck/fortune in this new year, I thought I’d share my anticipated goodness with you.

All you have to do is to guess how many beads are in this tube:

Beads in a Tube

The Details:

The tube is:

  • 1″ in diameter.

  • 4″ tall.

  • 2 1/4″ full (a little over half)

The beads are:

  • 1/8″ (or 1/2 cm) in diameter.

  • Silver-lined clear.

I think that’s it.  If you have any questions (other than how many beads are in the tube), leave a comment.

How to Enter:  Send me an e-mail with your guess of how many beads are in the tube.

Be sure to put “Beads in a Tube” in the subject line.

All entries have to be in by midnight Central Standard Time January 31, 2007.

The person closest to the correct number will win a $10 Amazon gift certificate.

Oh man…have you seen the show John Doe? John tells his cop friend that he can figure out how many marbles (or jelly beans or whatever) are in this jar by the size of the marble versus some other component multiplied by something taking into account some other factor (I’m paraphrasing, right?) and he gives this big ol’ equation and big ol’ scientific explanation. Then gives a big ol’ number. And his cop friend says, “what if there’s a balloon in the middle?”

    He he he.
I’ll send ya my guess. Sans mathematical equation.
